Welcome to our Spanish for Global Citizens program. The Language Center at Universidad de Medellín invites you to join us. It will be a great starting, continuing, or boosting point for your journey in learning Spanish.
If learning Spanish is your goal, we are your ideal partners.
It is a 12-course itinerary (456-hour in the whole program) designed to help you to make the next move in your language expertise, be yet to start from a beginner level to that of independent proficiency.

- Group classes (3 or more people): 1,565,000 COP per person and course
- Semi-personalized classes (2 students): $2.350.000 COP per person and course
- Personalized lessons (one-on-one): $3.250.000 COP per person and course

Taking regular education in Colombia requires that participants have either a PID status if studies are no longer than 90 days, or a Student visa if the study program will be for more than 90 days. A PID stamp is issued at the Immigration office at the arrival airport. The student visa is issued at the nearest embassy or consulate.
For the PID
From abroad
Step 1:
Go to the page of Migración Colombia https://www.cancilleria.gov.co/en/procedures_services/visa/requirements and check if your country requires a visa to enter Colombia.
- If your country of origin does not require a visa to enter Colombia:
- you must request a letter of admission and acceptance from the University of Medellin Language Center.
- When you arrive in Colombia, you must go to the Colombian Immigration office where, with the letter of acceptance in hand, you will receive the PID stamp. The PID permit has a duration of 90 days, with a possible extension to 90 more days.
- If you are part of the list of countries to which Colombia does not require a visa for entry, you should ask a letter of admission and acceptance from the Language Center of the University of Medellin and show it at Immigration office in the airport to have the PID stamp in the passport.
- If you are already in Colombia
- You must go to the Colombian Immigration office to change your status and have the PID stamp affixed.

Step 1:
Go to the following “Migración Colombia” page: https://www.cancilleria.gov.co/en/procedures_services/visa/requirements and check if your country requires VISA to enter Colombia.
• If your country of residence requires a VISA, follow the steps indicated on the page.
• If you need a VISA to enter Colombia, you must apply for a VISA (Type V). This visa will allow you to carry out educational activities at the Language Center of the University of Medellin.
• To obtain the VISA type V you will require a letter of invitation and acceptance given by the Language Center of the University of Medellin. (The VISA must state: “For the University of Medellin”).
• This procedure is done virtually.
• The VISA (Type V) has a duration of 180 days per year. According to the “Resolución 6045 – 2017” Article 10 – numeral 3 If you are in Colombia
• You must have your VISA (Type V) which will allow you to take education courses at the Language Center of the University of Medellin.
• If you do not have the required type of VISA, you must go to the Colombian Immigration office to exchange it for the type V. Exceptions
• If you are part of the list of countries to which Colombia does not require a VISA for entry. You will be able to enter the country only with the letter of admission given by the Language Center of the University of Medellin and the passport with the PID stamp.
